FAQ's
Q. What should I wear to class?
A. We want you to be comfortable while you’re learning to dance. You may come dressed in whatever you consider that to be. Most people come in jeans. Shoes are more important. You must bring a pair of clean dry shoes to change into before entering the dance area. Shoes with a back, smooth bottoms and lower heels are preferable for ease of movement.
Tennis shoes and spiked heels are not allowed on the dance floor.
Q. Can I attend class without a partner?
A. In our group classes participants dance with the partner they come with. Sorry, we do not provide partners for singles wishing to take a group class. We suggest finding a friend to attend class with you. Singles are always welcome to take private lessons.
Q. Do I need to pre-register for class? If so, how do I register?
A. Group classes are limited so pre-registration is recommended to ensure a spot in class. Drop-ins will be accepted only if the class is not full. To register for a group class email DateNightDance@gmail.com or call us at 605-338-3685.
Q. Can anyone attend the Friday Night Open Dances or do I need to be taking a class?
A. Friday Night Open Dances are open to the public and no dance experience is needed. Open dances are learning experiences with at least the basic step taught to each dance. Class participants receive a discount to the open dances if they attend during the month they are in a class.
Q. Where can I go to dance outside of lessons at Date Night Dance?
A. Each month we will produce an electronic newsletter listing dance opportunities in the region as well as the schedule of events and happenings at Date Night Dance. To be included in the mailing list email us at DateNightDance@gmail.com or call us at 605-338-3685.
